Are 1/2 ton coil springs a different overall diameter than 3/4 ton springs

Are 1/2 ton coil springs a different overall diameter than 3/4 ton springs

My 1977 F250 coils are roughly 5 1/2 inches in diameter.. a little more for HD coils
Are 1/2 ton springs a smaller diameter ( not wire size,,, o/a diameter?)

Searched and found nothing.. just wire sizes

Overall spring/coil diameter I'd guess NO. I am sure the coil spring buckets are the same size between F150 F250? So maybe the difference is in the coil "wire" diameter itself and that is how you get the lb rating difference?

I just measured the over all diameter of the coils on my 76' F150 and on my 79' F250 and they are both 5-1/2"...hope that helps!
