ford 390 engine problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey guys.... so the other day I was driving down the road when the engine died doing about 50-55.. I figured I ran out of gas once again because it's happened before since my gas gauge doesn't work. After putting gas in the tank I still couldn't get it started. I looked around in the engine bay and discovered that the distributor twisted around and jammed itself in the intake. I got the truck towed home and found that the distributor shaft locked up solid. I was only able to get it to spin after I put it in a vice and got a pipe wrench on it. I went online and purchased an HEI electronic distributor for it.... to hopefully make things easier.

I got the new distributor in and started to re-adjust the timing and the truck ran great but sounded like total garbage. It ran with a terrible ticking/knock sound. at first I figured it was the distributor rotor making a strange noise, then I figured I didn't have the oil pump rod lined up. I went ahead and pulled the valve cover and fired it up and seems like I didn't have any pressure because it didn't spray any oil at all.

I jacked up the motor, and dropped the pan only to find that the drive bar was connected???? I recently put a new oil pump in it to??? Is it possible that when my oil distributor locked up that it screwed something else up in the motor??? If anyone has anything to say it would be greatly appreciated

Maybe the oil pump drive is still in the pump but maybe its twisted off?

'Could have bent some push rods.

It's time to dig deeper and remove the rocker stands.

2X HIO's comments!! something is causing all that noise. Maybe even timing gear/chain related.
