E4OD floor shifter?

Was there ever an OEM floor shifter for the E4OD tranny?

If so, year(s) / model(s)?

Thanks.

I've thought about using a floor shifter too

This is a Winters floor shifter
Winters Sidewinder E4OD & 4R100 Shifter, For Bronco-Broncograveyard.com

I did a search for "E4OD Floor Shifter" and found a LOT of after market floor shifters for Broncos..........

I would consider it if I was going to use bucket seats but I really want to be able to use a split-bench seat so I can have a 3rd person in the cab.

If I cannot find a 55 automatic steering column......I'll probably go with a Ididit steering column and keep the shifter on the "tree".

If you really must have a floor shifter, you'll probably have to just spend a couple hundred for an after market one. Otherwise, you could find an after market one on eBay.

regards,

Rick

tell me more about this '55 option, please...

the more i think about it, i think i'd prefer to have the floor space and go "on the tree", too. i don't want a '90s plastic column/wheel in my truck, and the aftermarket ididit (et al.) columns aren't fea$ible for this build. are there old-style OEM options that can be made to work with an E40D?

thanks in advance. this is probably the only remaining "unknown" (large) part of my build process planning -- i don't really have a good grasp (yet) of how to proceed and what is needed.

I think so. In 55, there was a Fordomatic option for the F100 (and possibly the F250)

I was going to try to find a steering column for an auto F100 and just use it in my F600

I would probably have to make a custom clear plastic shift gear indicator to replace the one that matches the Fordo but I don't think that would be too hard. All the way up would still be Park and all the way down would still be DR etc.....You'd have to experiment to get the shift positions to match the indicator but I don't that would be too hard either.

I'd have the only "Fordomatic" equipped 55 F600 too!!
