06 Expedition throttle lag, normal?

Sorry if this has been asked a lot, I did search but couldn't find anything.

I'm looking at buying an 06 Expedition XLT 4x4 with about 130k miles. I test drove it, and there was a significant amount of throttle lag, especially noticeable when accelerating from a stop. Probably about a half second lag between pushing the gas and anything happening. I searched a ton, but only came up with F150 articles, which seems like it's normal for them, is this the same problem, or should this be something I worry about?

It also threw a check engine light, which the dealer is going to check out, and it had a had a light shake when running, but enough I noticed it. Not sure if these are related.

Are there any other common problems I should look out for/ignore?

May very well be a coil pack or even bad spark plug. If you are buying from a ford dealer may be work getting them to put new spark plugs in it also.

The 2006 is a drive by wire throttle body. The first thing I'd check is the throttle position sensor, the second is the fuel pressure.

Mine has the same lag time. I think the drive by wire programming just stinks. Too much lag and very touchy. Makes It hard to drive smoothly.

Almost every other drive by wire vehicle I've driven is better. I think it is just a trait of fords early drive by wire learning curve.
