During my restoration I took all the driveshafts off and had them rehabed. BUT! I didn't recall the orientation of the slip yokes. Meaning: Which direction do they go? I believe the transfer case to the front drive shaft has the slip yoke closer to the front diff. I also believe that the rear drive shaft (from the transfer case to the rear diff) has the slip yoke closer to the transfer case. I have no clue which way the transmission to the transfer case one goes???? Thanks in advance for any help!

 

On my '75 with a 205 case, the slip yokes were at the transfercase (front and rear shafts). The slip for the intermediate shaft was at the rear of the transmission.


I believe on trucks with a 203 case, the slip yokes were the opposite (with the exception of the intermediate).
