aftermarket 53-56 F100 front fenders

Hey guys.

I know people have bought them. Any issues with them ? Thought I found a decent uses set but guy is stalling so seems like he doesn't really want to sell(ain't no body got time for that)

I can get a brand new set where I am, Ontario. Question is, anything I should look out for? Fairly good fit?

Thanks

Nice. Is that an aftermarket hood? I have an original hood. That's why I'm curious. Forgot to mention that

All the re-pops are treated equal, they are made in Tiawan

Not too bad in general, but this sort of fit is what you should expect:

It is an aftermarket hood, and if you can get the original, keep it.....The aftermarket ones leave a fair bit to be desired, it was some work to get the hood to fit and sit properly.

+1 on Charlie's pic, I had the same problem, but that was the only problem, and we smoothed it out and filled it. Figured that wasn't too bad for being the Taiwan repop, like John said.

A company down my way. Wants like 600 each. I'm thinking of just driving to Macs auto. 30-40 minutes from fort Erie. Be cheaper that way. I sent them an email to see if they will price match at $350 ea US. If so I'm thinking road trip.

Yep.....pretty well everything on this truck is, I bought a frame with a VIN, they're difficult to come by in this part of the world..........
We did widen them to fit the widened rear fenders though.

ps. I sent you a pm with more of the gas filler pics you were asking about awhile ago.

My 56 has aftermart fenders on it,,,,,,,,

These were some of the early ones out. I had to do some repair on the bottom frts like the pictures show. The frt edges around the headlights were not tight at the pinch welds so a little dolly work was in order. Fit up was good after I did some hole elongation work. I had aftermarket running boards I bought at the same time and they were all wrong at the cab corner area. I wound up using one of my originals and getting a Dennis Carpenter repo. The DC is a very nice piece but needed some work on the finish spotwelds. My hood was a OEM found in barn some 25 yrs ago.
