Just the bottom ends of the skirt, sorry no photos its at the farm 16 miles away. Just looking for any advice from anyone's who has had this happen and if they replaced the pistons or buttoned it up and took a chance. Fender skirts, guess I am showing my age

I've seen that before on other engines and once fixed a 4.0 6cyl jeep engine for the same reason. That comes from cold starts and people just getting on it without warm up. Piston slap is kinda common I think the older the engine gets. If the skirt breaks off more it will sound like its blown up from wobbling. If you run it too long at that point it will mess the cyl up. The one I fixed I put 1 piston in for my poor college buddy at 178k mi....he put over another 100k on it after that before selling.
