5.4l to 6.2l

Looking to swap my 2002 5.4l 2v with a 2011 6.2l 2v. What needs to be done to make that happen

A whole lot of trouble, but if you got a parts truck the know how, and of course the $$$$ do it, it would be something cool.
Why not put a blower on the 5.4 or swap in a v10?

Here's a thread that I had started about a year and a half ago with some good information in it. It sounds like it's not really a straight forward sort of swap in your garage.

Hopefully that helps you out some.

That's what I wanted to know if it was straight forward ,

I'm probably going to go with a blower or a full on lightning swap

A V10 would be a more straight forward swap. And a lot more reliable motor than the 5.4 IMO.

I have not seen where a v-10 motor can be bought as a crate motor from ford or anyone else

Much better idea. The 6.2L is can-bus, the computers are not at all compatible, and you would have to use the 6R140 transmission with the 6.2L, and probably the dash and GEM from a 6.2L as well. Basically gut your truck electrically. Probably spend more money than if you just sold your truck and bought a nice 2011-up 6.2L Super Duty. I don't recommend doing engine swaps in newer Fords.

^^^^^ This! And would likely be more cost efficient and less troublesome!!

Since everyone is replying to the year old thread and not the guy who resurrected it (and about a half dozen other ancient threads today).........

P/N YL3Z-6006-AFRM is a 2001 6.8L reman. Or you could try to find a 6V006 , that the upgraded assembly, but I'm at a loss right now about what is actually changed. Runs about $4,500, you have to pick it up over the counter. It's always a part number 6006, that's what a reman engine assembly is.

There's not going to be a 6007 new assembly on a 2V modular anymore, in theory you could get a 3V 6.8L 6007 part because they're still in use in the C&C models, but then you still have all the 2V to 3V issues.

Dude, just either buy a different truck, or buy a Ford or Jasper 5.4L engine assembly and move on. Don't try to shoehorn a different engine in, it always costs more and involves more hassle than the simple options of repair what you have, or move on.
