OEM heated mirrors ,fog, lights and auto head lights
Hello , I just bought a 2005 f250 super crew diesel from work , I know everthing done to this truck from day one . I am wanting to add some factory options if possible (already installed upfitter switches with harness)
What is involved with heated mirrors ? and is the wiring in place for OEM fog lights ? I have some access to wiring schematics , but that really only shows how its run not if its there (honestly looking for the easy way) if anyone can help I would be greatful.

As for the heated mirrors, I ran a ground straight to the battery, and have them hooked to an uppfitter.
As for the fog lights, there are two ways you can go about this, assuming you do NOT have power windows, you can buy the kit made for the XL, if I remember correctly it's close to $300 and it comes with a new BCM (body control module) which you will have to take to a dealer and have them install it for you, which is around another $100, or you can buy the XLT kit which is around $160, it comes with the two fogs and the short harness, hook the ground up and run them to an upfitter as well.
As for the auto headlights, that may be something a dealer needs to program into the truck for that option to work.
This is what I did on my rig, I ran the heated mirrors and fogs to upfitter switches so I can turn on & off when desired, if you have plans for all of your upfitters then you can run these to additional switches, you will just have to find a place in the dash to mount these extra switches.
Now my rig is a 2012, yours being a 2005 there may be some differences or may not, if you decide to wire these up manually like I have then there should be no problem wiring them up like I stated.

I have an 06 XLT, it came with the power heated mirrors and I also intend on adding Automatic Headlights & Factory Fog Lights. For the Auto Headlights I bought the Sun Load Sensor from Tasca Ford off eBay with the correct Medium Flint Bezel - I think it was around $75.00 I still need to get the Headlight Switch with the Auto Headlight & Fog Light positions again I think that's another $75.00 from Tasca off eBay. I know the Fog Lights will work BUT I'm still not sure if the Auto Headlight function will work - I don't know if the dealer can program the Auto Headlight function in but I intend to find out when I have the dealer program the truck for the Factory Brake Controller & correct Master Cylinder to match. I just bought the Upfitter wiring harness and the Fog Light harness new off eBay but they haven't arrived yet. It will be a while before I get everything installed but I'll definitely let you know my findings when I get everything collected & installed.

I just pulled the stock front fog lights out of my Lariat to replace them with some LED worklights. The harness is not complicated and very easy to run a new one in the same location; I assume the holes will be in all frames that it clips to. Easiest way would probably be to hook them up to an upfitter switch, but have you looked at your headlight switch wiring harness yet to see if you can't just splice a connector into the original plug and then replace just the headlight switch with one that has foglights? Of course you wouldn't be using the stock harness and controls that way, but a relay, a fuse and some wiring is much cheaper than $150....

The info that sd dully posted is for the newer trucks 2011 and up. You need this WIRE ASY - FOG LAMP | Genuine Ford | 5C3Z-15A211-BA a new headlight switch that has all your headlight current headlight functions plus fog lights and of course the lights themselves and it will work just like it would from the factory all the holes that the little Christmas tree pins go into are all there. Are you sure the mirrors aren't heated on a xlt they're on all the time there is no switch. As far as i know trucks ever since the 6.0 came out with the lighted tow mirrors (except the 7.3's you could get at the same time) they all had the wiring in the doors if they had power mirrors and pretty sure all the power mirrors are heated never seen any that weren't on super duties even if they didn't have the lighted mirrors form the factory.
