Upgrading 92 7.3 IDI
Hello all,
Haven't been on for a long while, but ive got a quick question that im sure is going to have a long answer but any and all ideas and opinions are wanted and welcomed.
Question- I want to upgrade my engine, what is best way to do so some associates have mentioned mounting a super charger vs a turbo, for less labor and less money, is this possible??? Next WHERE DO YOU FIND PERFORMANCE COMPONENTS FOR OUR ENGINE!!!!???????

R&D IDI Performance - Home - Justin @ R&D performance, he can get you a kit or parts.
Of course, if you are short on money, try to find a used Banks Sidewinder kit off another of these engines. The 2nd gen, wastegated kit can be installed with the engine in the truck(downpipe is a bit tricky). If you can find one, expect to pay in the $5-700 range.

for turbos, pumps, and injectors. you should use one of the vendors mentioned above.
type four also has some kick a$$ products.
these are the only 3 places i would ever buy these units from.
when it comes to internals, hands down R&D has the market.
stud girdles, piston upgrades, studs, and eventually valvetrain and connecting rods!
other than that, theres really no other place that supports these engines.
you cant supercharge our engines for the price of a good hair dryer.
if you have the fab skills, dedication to research, and the pocket book, you can do some custom stuff.
i have found that building these engines are not very cheap, unless youre doing the bare minimum.
really all depends on your budget.
