So, I've gotten like 4 infraction points from my first thread on this website lol. So I do have some serious questions about this. What do these "points" do, and how many do I get before something happens?

If you get enough they use the email you signed up with and subscribe you to either a My Little Pony or Cummins forum.... if John is nice he'll give you the Bronie's.

Cummins..... (shudders)

Or I could be wrong Now that everyone has had a little fun and you had your introduction to a forum. Welcome to FTE. The guys here will steer you in the right direction since most of us have been around trucks for the biggest part of our lives. Engine swaps are of no real problem with companies like Advanced Adapters in business making the difficult part of the swap easier, engine and transmission swaps. You still have to have the skill set to fabricate. Carry a big hammer, have torch will travel mentality. Good Luck.

Hey thanks! I thought you were gonna make my forum life miserable!! But thanks for proving me wrong! And thanks for another company to check out. And yeah, I kinda knew a bit about the fabrication part of it. I've been welding and building with my grampa all of my 19 years so I'm sorta good with that. I'm just worried about transmission, axles, and transfer case. That's the area I don't know much about. I've rebuilt the same 350 twice and have worked on 6.5's a lot with my dad. Just never drivetrain.

You are Welcome. I like ambition and willingness for fabrication from the younger generation... GM lost me in 1995 when I switched to my first PowerStroke and never looked back. In all reality the F150 would never handle the size and weight where the 4BT would be the better choice coupled to a hand shaker. Parts availability would be a plus compared to the 6.5 Turbo Diesel if you were farther away from home. If you want to tear up the back 40, be my guest and give it a go with 6.5 TD

True.. Very true.. My dad talked me in to getting an 87 gmc pickup to put the 6.5 in anyway. We spend like 2 hours measureing and figuring weight. And then we spent another 2 hours trying to decide what to do with the old thing. If you guys don't mind seeing a GM build I'd still be glad to post some pictures. And the diesel f150 will have to wait for better days...

You can sometimes find an old IDI (6.9 or 7.3) for fairly cheap. Maybe try and swap that into your F150. Would be easier going ford to ford.
