6.2 HP/TQ improvements-computer or mod

I agree. I'm satisfied with 385 HP and 405 ft. lbs. of TQ I wouldn't want to do anything that would affect longevity or reliability. Not to mention voiding a warranty if you still have one. I put the video up to show it's possible to get more HP and TQ out of a 6.2. But there's always a price to pay.

I've always been for maximizing the power I have to work with, in the case of the 6.2 I did a spread sheet using 60 mph rpm, max torque rpm, tire size and rear end gears to determine what gears to use. I used 3.73, 4.30 and 4.56 gears and the stock 245/75/17 tires for a DRW, of coarse the factory 4.30 won out but I also used the 4.56 just in case I needed to go that low to get it to do what I wanted it to do.
With the 4.30 gears I have never wanted for more in my case 8400 lbs of truck empty power but I do wish that I had a little more pulling long grades at altitude with full rated load and a little move in tow. But with the 6 speed and the well spaced gearing I just use the manual mode and start dropping down to lower gears to overcome the problem but cruising down the road at 60 to 65 pulling it runs right around 2K rpm in 6th and you can't even hear it run.

My father has the 6.2 ford, my uncle has the 6.2 chevy. The Chevy kicks it's ***, but it is not a fair comparison. I am comparing a single cab, F350 with lift, rims, and big tires, 4:30 gears, 5 star tune, stage 2 intake, exhaust, to a 1500 Chevy quad cab (a lot lighter) with stock rims and tires. But you gas the chevy and its gone, or melting the tires.
The ford 6.2 has it's positives and negatives, a negative being it does not have a ton of power, but the positive is it does not have many problems either, just drive.
