Sorry, Denny! I should have checked your year before I wrote that. And Monkey Face or Manure Spreader yours is nicer and more stock than the one sold at Barrett Jackson.

Based on having seen 'Homade' and seeing that one on TV I think 'Homade' would bring a lot more at that auction !

Funny thing, I looked at those trucks the 56s and I didn't like any of them! Personal taste I guess, I have 2 56s that look stock and not overly modified,I always thought that was part of the appeal to me

All these trucks are simply gorgeous, but I have a little bit of a problem when I see the term "professionally built". These restoration and 'rest o-mod' builders are in business to make money and they demand a return at these auctions whereas us hobby crafters always get told 'you never get back what you put into it'. This irritates me because in my opinion a do it 'yourselfer' puts the time and attention and care into their project, where the professional works on a tight schedule with expensive crews and are experts at hiding the flaws ad details that won't be known to the customer. The customer has deep pockets and heads to the auction to flip it and make his profit. I do realize though, at no reserve they are taking the chance. I apologise if my little rant irritates anyone, but that's the way I see it.

Anybody at Barrett Jackson has deep pockets. It's $500 just to get a buyers pass (and don't even think about the sky box unless you're spending at least a million). Then add 10% over the selling price for the buyers premium. And the sellers get hit for 10% sellers fee. I think that's why you don't see many "home built" cars there.

Ain't that the truth. I went a couple of times but ONLY as a spectator. Walking the tents and checking out the rides. I am amazed at the lack of detail for some on the stuff that crosses the block. The prices, well, you can do allot better if your in the market if you check out the other auctions in the Valley.
