Barrett Jackson Scottsdale 2016

Went to the Barrett Jackson auction yesterday, I didn't spend much time at the auction itself but did walk through almost all of the vehicles for sale.
I have been watching online to see what some of them are selling for....seems like inflation is hitting our hobby.

1952 FORD F-100 CUSTOM PICKUP

There seems to be a lot of Corvettes, Mustangs, and muscle cars. I was surprised that there weren't more trucks.

That, I would say is ugly. It looks like that manure spreader is missing some teeth!

Abe I didn't see the blue and silver one but did see the red stock one...it was very nice! Not sure if it was worth what it brought but there were at least two people who thought it was.
I was unable to post two trucks initially but was able to go back and correct it try linking on the first truck now...

Want to see inflation, just look at craigslist - people want 10K or more for a non-working '56 that needs a lot of body work.

Hah, guilty as charged. I waited for Barrett-Jackson week to sell my old Mustang to pay for my truck a few years ago.

With 5000 bidders with more money than sense and only 1500 vehicles, it's a feeding frenzy here.

E....the website shows them selling five quarts of oil on Tuesday for $140.00 !!!
Granted they were in metal cans but really ?
I think I might understand if they were glass, no I don't think I can even understand that.

Oh, now I can see the red stock one. That one is nice. But I don't think it is worth $45,000. I would say first riders (Denny) 48 is nicer.

I saw a red 56 F100 while I was there was was really, really nice, yesterday I saw it sold for 45k. Personally knowing what I know (building mine) I do not see how you could have built it to the caliber it was for 45k. I have close to 20k in mine and it isn't even close to done! So in short someone got a good deal. There's also a very sinister looking Black 56 named the Beast lot #1313 there there that is awesome, all blacked out, very tick, can't wait to see what that one goes for!

Did you see the "patina" 1950 F1 with the rust holes in the fender go for $39,000.00? Wow! It did have a Ford Lightning drivetrain though . . .

Insane prices. I seem to recall that prices did the same thing in '07-'08 just before the crash. Look out below......

$45k for a truck with a crashbox 4-sp? I don't think so. It's beautiful but I like to drive them.

Ross...
I agree with you, I don't understand having something that you cannot drive. I use my truck a lot. I will admit to feeling really good when I get that thumbs up or a smile from other drivers.
As for the prices the cars and trucks are bringing it makes me feel better about my money pit, but it still isn't for sale.

I guess whatever strikes the buyers fancy on the " stock " NOT '51 . Way too many things not correct on that truck.Have an AACA show Mar. 19 near here . At least they treat you right the entry fee ( $15 ). The local museum is having a show in April where they have a very large rotating display of '30's Ford trucks . Entry is $80 . Will not be there ! Also a show in upscale Vero Beach next month $ 60 .Not going .
