You guys do realize that the diesel option isn't intended to be a tow monster like in the Titan half ton. Ford is trying to dethrone Ram for MPG superiority. That will net an engine / truck that will be far below the capability of the ecoboost sibling.

Just curious what your source is on this? I believe they could achieve impressive towing and mpg with the right engine and drivetrain. I think even better that the EB.

Where'd you get that from Tim? Without any kind of public announcement of an upcoming diesel model I think we're all just speculating.

You do realize some people just like diesels right?
Watching the Titan review on Fastlane Truck makes it look like a joke. Nissan dropped the ball on that one.
I put flatbeds on (4) Ram 1500 EcoDiesel 4x4 regular cab 8' bed tradesman, roll up windows and all! They do make them, nobody orders them for stock at the dealers.
I would think that Ford would turn the 3.0 over to the Powerstroke team for them to go through. The biggest problem with diesels these days are the emission systems.
I will take the EB all day long over any new diesel. Emissions requirements have ruined new diesels. Unless I need to tow heavy, which is no F150 diesel, no thanks.
The problem is how these trucks will be used is what will cause the most problems. Many owners will use them like 3/4 tons. That, more than anything, is more than likely what has kept the manufacturers from putting diesels in half tons.

That doesn't make any sense. Manufacturers are worried about people overloading their trucks because of the type of fuel they use? Without a source that's wild speculation at very best.
