Hi 151 pounds is nothing, that's just Fords rating with those gears, everything else on a 3.73 geared to 4.30 geared truck is same, brakes tires frame, hitch.

I have decided to keep my gasser. Not going to take the plunge for a diesel as I can't get enough out of my truck to go into a diesel. I am spoiled by the platinum options and would only trade for another platinum diesel.

Now, debating on getting gears done for a 4.30 or wait till the warranty expires in 6 years or do now. Wife doesn't want me to touch to void the warranty.

I don't think you void the whole warranty...maybe just the axle.

I would talk to your dealer you use and find out what they say. As for changing gears if thats what will give you peace of mind then go ahead and have it done. Changing gears is not a big deal just an exspensive one. I have read on some forums here around $3K. That being on a 4x4 truck.Good luck.

Use Ford gears and have the dealer install them and the warranty will be fine
