intermittent wiper conversion

Looked at the post for this, but my question is, I have a 1965 Ford F100 with 2 speed stock wipers now. I have an early to late 70's delay switch setup. How do i hook the switch up without changing the motor like the posts talk about? Wiring diagram.
Thanks for responding.

Welcome aboard.

Does your new setup look like this? If so, it should be plug 'n' play.

Unhook old wiper switch from dash panel
Pull out the electrical socket
Plug electrical socket into new delay switch into the end of the pigtail
Mount new switch into the dash panel
Find location to mount the delay module nearby (underdash)

Wow, you're telling me that an intermittent switch out of a 1987 (going by the PN on the module) is plug & play for a 1965/66??

Kool!

Ill have to look for one of those for my crewcab next trip to Pick'N'Pull

Not positive about every 1965 or 1966. Works well if you already have the 2 speed wiper motor and the 7 prong switch. Others, I'm not sure about. Here's some good reading.

About any 70s, 80s, 90s Ford delay that is not slide control will work. The slide control will work, just not in the original switch slot. Basically you just connect the wiring at the motor of a 2 speed motor and you are good to go. I have had it in my 66 for 15 years.

I had to shorten the shaft on my switch a little to use a stock looking ****. If you use the later year **** (same year as the intermittent controller) no modification to shaft required. I just wanted to use the period correct wiper ****.

FYI only.

PS James: I see these advertised on eBay all the time for around $35.

Rich: Thanks for the heads-up

I think it will be less (and also be CDN $$) @ Pick'N'Pull

...and I'm guessing there is a high probability of the Econoline vans using the same switch/module as the F-series??, but can someone confirm or deny this??

Thanks!

If Econoline was the same, I would have said so. I didn't say so, because it's not the same...as you can see.

Like to ask a question. My Son had a 79 Bronco with intermittent s. Center off, 1 turn right slow speed, 2 turns right high speed. The intermittent worked to the left of off. Is this normal for that year or did the PO add an aftermarket setup, possibly from Cole-Hersee?

Sounds right so far. I'd have to check my switch, but I think it's a pull on the **** to make the electric washers go, too. Don't quote me on that...

Mr. Wilson, It is my hands on P and P experience that sez most of these switches are adaptable with minor modding. Not to argue with Ford's numbering system. It has been a few but I believe cars used the slider. They are not that hard to make work, if you want one.

IICAP I believe that is correct.

Chances are I am wrong about this but I thought a '75-up wiper motor with the '66 motor "arm" were required. No?

That is what I am running (76), not saying a 2spd 66 wont work.

Deley wipers and tilt steering look to me to be the most adaptable items on these trucks. IMHO.
