56 F100 Custom Cab Resto
I own a 56 F100 Custom Cab Big Window that my dad bought in 57. It was his work truck for about 20 years then just used it occasionally, dropped a small block hemi into it and cruised around before he stopped using it and its sat in the back yard. Its time to get it back on the road. Im in So California. Los Angeles, Looking for a local body and paint shop. Have a little rust repair on the roof but mostly solid. Not going to be a show car but want a good job body and paint. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

KYS, welcome to FTE! This is the best Ford Truck forum on the World Wide Web.
Sounds like you have a nice truck with a good family heritage. Feel free to ask specific questions. Here is some advice. Before you go whole hog and totally dismantle it get it running and safe and drive it before you decide what to do.
Also, we need to see pictures!

Get a hold of someone in Pickups Limited Contact | they known all the shops in your area. Next Saturday (1/16) is Jeff's Fun Run, it's a great run and it would be a good opportunity to meet other f100 owners near you. Lots of beautiful trucks in the club and especially at that run. Ed Oe is an active member of this forum as well.

Here is how to post pic's on FTE

Here is one way by "Axracer"
Do you have digital pix of your truck from digital camera or phone on your computer?
If so it is easy to add them to a post (assuming the file is not too large). Find the
pic on your computer and leave it open while you come here in another window. Compose
a post, click where you want the pic to appear in the post. Click on the picture icon
at the top of the posting box (looks like a postcard with mountains and sun) A dialog
box will open asking if you want to drag a pic onto the box or browse your computer to
find it. If you have the pic open, go there, right click anywhere on the pic and chose
copy from the menu. Come back to your post and right click on the box. Select paste from
the menu. Your picture should appear (it may take a few seconds to load) in the box. Now
left click on the insert button.
If the stars all aligned your picture should now be in your post window. Select post to
have it appear on the forum or repeat to add more pix. Some cameras make huge files these
days that are larger than the forum limits. You may need to resize or resample the picture
and save the smaller file version with whatever picture editing software came with your
picture taking device before you can post it.
If you are a supporter than just right click on an image from anywhere like Facebook
or whatever. Than left click in your post and paste it in. So simple even a monkey
could do it.
Oh! and welcome to FTE and the old truck madness.

With the wheel covers, chrome bumper and pinstriping, this truck doesn't look like a work truck!
Cute kids. Is the boy you?
Now don't wait another four years for an update! LOL

You had me for a minuet, I had to go back several times before I finally figured out the delay was over 4 years ago, but that's OK. Cool shop you have, I see a lot of vintage stuff in there. Im really diggin the Hemi and the pinstripes on the dash. Great story you have ahead of you. keep us posted.
