When I put the DJM shackles on my long bed, I had to cut one of the bed crossmembers to clear the shackles. When I set the new shortbed on the same frame, the shackles clear everything fine.
I checked further. All standard springs are the same length whether long or short box. The easy ride springs are 4" longer and you have to remove the easy ride portion when you use drop shackles and it will then hit the crossmember. I don't think easy ride was an option with short box trucks?

Ford does not list LWB and SWB springs. Looking up F100 4X2 Bump springs they list differences in check load ratings and number of leaves only.

My short bed came with Flexomatic springs and a 9-3/8" trac-loc rear end.

Mine came with the Flexomatics as well.
Dual tanks but just a 9" rear

Got the tank in it's final position, on top of the lower lip of the frame rail. I'm working on getting that rear crossmember re-mounted to work with the tank. I should be getting more parts tomorrow, so I might be able to finish up the brake lines, and maybe the gas line.

What are you going to do with the hole in the cab where the old filler tube was?

I'll likely end up welding a patch in there. With the new short bed and two new front fenders, the truck is going to have to get painted anyway.

My new gas tank is going to sit on top of the lower frame rails. I would like to put something, like a rubber strip, between the frame rail and the lip of the gas tank. Any ideas?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I found a mud flap from a tractor-trailer, that I may cut into strips and use. We'll see. I got some sandblasting, welding and spray painting done in the garage. I had to take a break from spray painting after a n hour or so. My eyes start getting fuzzy, and I can feel my heart pounding in my throat.

I'll get some pictures after supper when the paint fumes clear up.

I ended up buying a bicycle inner-tube ($7) to cut up and put between the tank and frame. I got the tank painted. I wanted it black so it wouldn't be as noticeable under the rear of the truck. I finished the brake lines, so now the truck has new brake lines/ hoses front to rear. I re-painted the shocks black, and got those back on. I welded nuts to the inside of the rear crossmember, and got it bolted back in with tank. I have to run my new gas line now. Then I have to set the bed back on the frame so I can figure out where my tailpipes will exit in front of the rear tires. I'm back to work tomorrow for 5-12's, so I might not get back out to the garage till the middle of next week. Plus, a bunch of parts I ordered from DC and LMC arrived at the shipping depot in Sault, Michigan, so I have to take a road trip to get my parts.
Sorry about the long post.
