6.7 glow plug harness any tips to remove

I'm really struggling to get this sucker off my 2014 6.7 F350

it says in the ford manual to lift the plastic tabs then pull off, I did that easily with 3 on each side, but the end plug on each side (the one closest to the windshield) does not seem to have a liftable tab (it looks different to the others as its at the end of the cable)

I've almost broken it but not quite, its over $300 for new harness, ouch

I do have the odd little hook tool they sell for this, it helped with the other 3 for sure, but I've spent ages on the 4th on each side and cannot budge either of them

any tips on removing the last stubborn one on each side would be greatly appreciated

thanks and happy holidays to all

Hi Terry,

I'm moving this one to the 6.7L forum since it's an engine-specific question.

2014 Ford Service DVD - Does not list anything special about the 4th one on each side.

Glow Plug
Removal

Remove the LH or RH fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to Section 501-02 .

NOTE: It may be necessary to unthread the engine sound shield retainers from the engine.

Remove the 5 RH or 4 LH engine sound shield retainers and the RH or LH engine sound shield.

Using the tabs on the top of glow plug connector, pull the glow plug connector off the glow plug.

NOTE: The use of an 8mm deep socket with no internal shoulder is necessary for removal and installation of the glow plug.

Remove the glow plug.
