Onboard battery charger installation

I received my new Battertender 022-0157-1 12v 5a charger. I am undecided how and where to mount it. I have it laying against the pass side fender right now but would rather not drill into the fender.

Thoughts, suggestion?

some of the heavy wide double sided foam tape would probably hold that there.

That would certainly be better than driling holes in the fender.

3M Dual Lock works great. We use it alot at work and it is def. better than regular velcro. I have hung 25 lb. metal enclosures with it where we were not allowed to drill the walls in a safe. A little on the pricey side though...

It's a double thick fender. Look at the existing holes drilled without issue on the outside. Just use a drill depth gauge to avoid popping into the outer skin. No big issue.

I don't drill new holes for hardley anything, definitely nothing inside the cab. The inner fender, I wouldn't have a problem drilling. You might be able to use a hole that's already there. It would be a clean install using a couple 1/8" to 1/4" long self tapping screws.

Good idea! Thats the same stuff that comes with the EZ-Pass tags I think.

I realize that and am not fearful of driving a screw through the outer fender. I just do not want new holes that may start rusting away in the future since I can not get the the back side of the inner fender and seal it.

No holes line up except one and it is about 3/8 in size, way too big.

Thanks but the same issue as drilling a hole and not being able to get to the back of it and seal it properly.

This thing will not fit in my garage. And even if it did I would have to park the boat and kayaks outside.

McMaster has several versions, we used to use some of the high strength, high temp products to hold test instrumentation in vehicles. Parts had to stay in place in case of an accident. Not the cheapest source however.

I have the same battery maintainer. I mounted mine in front of the power steering pump reservoir. Its out of site and protected. I was debating about removing the vacuum reservoir and getting the BPD vacuum reservoir then installing a bracket behind the passenger battery and mounting it there, but time and money ended that debate.
