You can buy the kit or piece it together for the tranny or oil bypass. I bought the kit from dieselsite and have both installed along with the fuel filter before the pump. I also write on all my filters the date, mileage, and type of oil or fluid to use and when next change is just in case I die the wife will have the correct info.

Good for you, Matthew! That's a project that's been on my "trucket" list for quite a few years, and I just haven't found a round "tuit" yet.
My intention was to make my own bracket very similar to yours, admittedly copying the similar kit I saw for sale on a diesel vendor's site somewhere. I just didn't like that vendor's price for a flat piece of plate I could cut and drill myself. And, I thought I could improve on that vendor's design a bit.
Sounds like I'll be cutting a few different versions out of cardboard first to physically verify all clearances before finally making the plate. I was thinking of using aluminum, since the filter base and the transmission are aluminum, but an aluminum plate might have to be too thick for equivalent strength. As far as dissimilar metal corrosion is concerned, the cover plate for the Torque converter is stamped steel, although it is painted.
Are you going to paint your bracket?
(Sorry Tugly, but you never posted pics of your bypass oil set up, which leaves little fodder to talk about, other than being human).

Here's a 1/2" short bolt. Add to that just a short bit of grinder time and VOILA! A new tool.
Perfect fit.
Rich, the bypass filtration has allowed me to be a bit "careless" with my lube oil changes, and it hasn't hurt me at all.
For a look at my Blackstone reports for the last almost eleven years, look here:

Why add a cooler? The engine is equipped with a very large cooler as is.

I took the fan off mine in the middle of the Texas summer, drove it for 175 miles and I never saw temps over 200. My fan clutch went out, and the closest new OEM one was near my brother's house 175 miles away. I don't see where the HPOP would make heat...?
Maybe your oil to water cooler on the side of the engine is not doing its job. When I rebuilt mine, 7 of the passages were completed blocked with scale build up.

Love the Glowshifts. I have the MaxTwo DoubleVision gauges, and they are super easy to read. Not a problem with any of them in the 2.5 years I have had them. I have found the quality to be very good on the harnesses, fittings and gauges. The scangauge is a good option by all accounts, just not as easy to read while driving I think.
