Blower motor resistor replaced - fail

Following others on the forum, I replaced the blower motor resistor on a 2010 F150 with dual climate control where the blower was stuck on high.
After replacing the resistor, now the lower speeds work fine, but when placed on high speed, the fan completely shuts down.
Replace with the old resistor, and it only runs on high.
I have not seen others with this same problem...any advice on how to proceed, or what else might be the problem?

Thanks in advance for the help...

Maybe by chance the new resistor is bad? Where di you buy and have you tried to exchange it?

I have tried two resistors, both from Ford, with the same result. The original will only run on highe, and both others will run on low speeds, and once on high, the blower shuts off, requiring a power off to restore low speeds again.

I wonder if disconnecting the battery and touching the terminals together for a few minutes will reset the climate system..

Blower motor resistor

You may be tripping out a breaker with the new resistors because the blower motor is drawing too much current. That might be why the original resistor low speed resistors failed. Believe there are no resistors used for the high speed setting, so power goes directly to the blower motor. I would start looking at the blower motor, the wiring and the connections.

Update:
I tried to reset the memory by disconnecting the battery and touching the terminals together as suggested.
The blower worked on high for maybe 15-20 seconds, then kicked off. Turning off the system allowed it to come back on, but each time I out it on high, it kicked off quicker than before. When I pulled the resistor, the heat sick was very hot to the touch.
I think MNGolfer is on to something with the breaker. Maybe it is a thermal breaker in the resistor itself...not sure of the schematics of the resistor module. Will try and check some other components tomorrow.

Does anyone here have the circuit diagrams of this system?

Thanks for the suggestions so far!
