Weird no-start problem.

Had a no-start today. Cranked just fine, but didn't start.

Service Engine Soon light came on for the self-test, so I know PCM was getting power.
I could hear the fuel pump relay under the hood clicking on when I turned. The key to RUN, then cut off about 10 sec later... But I couldn't hear the fuel pump, considering it's in the next zip code.

I checked for fuel at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail and got a good splash of gasoline. Right after that, it fired right up.

No codes.

Is the tach supposed to bounce a little when cranking without starting?

Any more issues? Did you find a resolution to the problem? I am having a no start issue with my 2001. Newish battery, cranks fine but no start. Recently replaced plugs and a coil after a blow out. Since the blow out repair have had no issues until this crank without starting.

Tried replacing my Cam position sensor but that didnt solve the problem.

Never did solve the issue. It doesn't happen often enough to diagnose.

My no start condition was a fuel pump.
