Big three upgrade on a 7.3
I have a 2002 F350 w/ a 7.3 that I am going to do the "big three" errr... big five on these trucks... upgrade.
I found the attached instructions from DC power. My question is do I need to run the 1/0 wire from the engine to the frame rail or can I run it to the body since I am going to upgrade the ground strap from the body to the frame under the cab as well?
TIA!

It really depends on why you are installing this alternator. If you are installing it just to charge the factory batteries and equipment, you don't need to upgrade the grounding. If you are installing the alternator for a snowplow that is grounded to the frame, upgrade the ground wire to the frame. If you are installing the alternator to help drive a amplifier mounted in the cab, then upgrade the cab/body ground. They talk about this in the instructions, you need to figure out where your high drain equipment is grounded, and make a large return path to the alternator ground.
