05 xlt swap 6.0 4x4 auto

Big question I'm a little stumped

Have a 05 6.0 super cab long bed xl automatic truck 4x4

Had a 06 6.0 automatic super cab long bed 4x4 xlt truck that was my parts truck. Bought complete.

So I decided to xlt swap the xl since it's the one I'm building

For those who don't know for the most part the xlt harness is mainly its own harness. Has a General Electric module on firewall. Gem. Then has two plugs that go in fuse box. And its associated fuses and relays. I used the complete xlt harness and fuse box from 06 along with its power doors

Fuses and relays are good.

I have it together and have power windows and everything else EXCEPT the locks. I have power to my switches but for the life of me can't figure it out.

The locks worked before I took first truck apart

Battery voltage at my switch but nothing at the lock actuators when I press lock or unlock button.

Any tips? I know I have my grounds hooked up.

Thanks

There is different lock systems between the trucks that have remote keyless entry and non RKE. The NON RKE is type "C" (reversing polarity) while the RKE are type "B" (- pulse)

I did this swap a few years ago on a 06. Did you remember to hook up the Orange ground wire that's by the door jam and fuse box? That kicked my butt because it was the first time I had seen a ground wire in a ford that was'nt black.

just checking.

Did you use the RKE module/GEM from the donor and install it behind the radio? Did you use the fuse box from the donor truck as well? and what about the instrument cluster? My door ajar switches and dome lights wouldn't work right until I had original cluster reprogrammed to tell the truck its an XLT now.

just a few thoughts...

Bump

Used rke fuse box doors and full harness from donor

No cluster, didn't know that could effect it

I still don't have locks have batt voltage to. Y drivers side switch. And then weirdly a batt voltage that's constant to the actuator but doesn't change when switch is pressed

Really starting to get frustrating. Truck has windows that work flawlessly. All grounds have been checked along with fuses and connectors.

Really getting stumped

Also don't have third brake light when grounds are good and bulbs

Or dome light triggered by door opening and the xlt radio doesn't shut off by door open either

all of your issues are controlled by the cluster. I know it sounds like bs,, but I have had door lock and radio staying on issues and it was the cluster.

Sold already. My ******* had no idea it was involved or related in this swap at all

To get this straight.

I have the 05. That's the one this is all swapped to from the 06.

When I get my original 05 cluster reprogrammed what do I need it programmed as?

I had a really smart tech at the ford dealer program mine with the as-built data for a cluster from a truck that was an xlt. I dont know if these speedo repair shops can do that or not. Maybe all they can do it change the miles. If they cant then you'll need to buy a used cluster from a xlt and put your miles in it. I'll look at my extra clusters and see what the part number is on the xlt one.
