i tried searching but didn't find anything. i'm curious, is it any way possible to somehow mod the rear doors on my 04 crew cab so they open wider? maybe there's a "stop" that can be modded to allow it to swing open further? i know for example on my excursion cargo doors, there's a little thing you unhook and it allows it to swing open from the stock 90 degrees to way more than that, and it makes it A LOT easier to get things in and out of the cargo. if the crew cab rear doors opened wider, it'd be 10x easier to get things in and out of the rear of the cab. kinda wish i had an extended cab for the suicide doors, but it is what it is.

 

thats a great idea if it can be done....I sometimes put 3ft wide tool boxes on the cargo deck and it takes some jiggling.

 

Its limited by the hinges. You may be able to find some front door hinges that will work.

 

That's actually a good idea. Just searching images real quick, they look different so definitely not a bolt on mod. I'm gonna look at them tomorrow and see what options there are

 

The hinges will be different I do think the bolt pattern should be the same. There may be a problem when you open the door to its max. Watch you have a good clearance.

 

i'm thinking about actually attempting this soon and just seeing what happens. i think i might be able to mod the stock rear crew cab hinges to allow the doors to open more, but not sure. i'm going to look for a couple hinges on craigslist now and do that so if it doesn't work out i don't mess up my stock hinges. i will update this thread if i figure anything out. any ideas are welcome!
