NOPE! Does it still. I drive it 5 miles, then it coughs and sputters and misses, and dies. Let it set for 10 minutes, fires right up, and repeat. Fuel bowl is about 1/4 full with the filter out. Is that enough fuel in the bowl? Just trying to figure out, if its behind the filter, or in front of the filter is the problem? Or, electrical? I just don't see an electrical issue, making like its running out of gas? But, I'm no expert, that's why I'm asking you experts! LOL

Did you get a new cps. Have you monitored the fuel pressure?

this might be a Dumb@$$ question, but, since I have oversized injectors, and a chip. Could it be the cat converter clogging up? I don't run the crap out of it, but it does black smoke a little when you take off..

No it is not. I see either a fuel pump problem, or, more than likely, something is moving around in the tank plugging the fuel intake line. After it sits for a few minutes the suction releases it, only to be picked back up once started again.

I was thinking something plugging the fuel line too.. But, it would have to be something big, the pick up foot is probably about 3" diameter if I remember right. I installed new ones in both tanks, a few months back. It just started doing this about 2 weeks ago.

In your first post, which I missed, you stated you replaced the fuel selector valve off of your 89 Diesel, then this happened. Are you sure the selector valve is functioning properly? Is it an identical part?

Check your fuel pressure cranking and at idle, if you can get it started. At least eliminate that.

If the truck was running good before replacing the selector valve, I would suspect that. 1 thing I have found out the hard way is trying to troubleshoot these trucks without a tool is next to impossible. I recommend you get a scanguage or AE to properly diagnose the different parts of the system. I hope this helps.
