Interesting comments here on who makes Summits auto paint. Post 5 & 6.
Has anyone use summit racing paint - Nova Tech
Summit may not divulge who their supplier is but the supplier might be able to give you some info if these post are accurate.

Not trying to go away from the post and am in no way bashing Summit, but what I have has to do with low voc and summit shipping. Last month I ordered a gallon of Rage Gold filler from Summit and was told they could not ship it to CA. I went into my local supplier and bought it right off the shelf.

Thank goodness I live 35 minutes from the Reno Summit store and they don't do vehicle searches at the Ag station at the border.

I'd wager a lot of the shipping problems have to do with DOT shipping regs rather than state use regs. Feds are so terrorism paranoid they are heavily restricting the shipment of any potentially flammable materials first by air, then by rail, now by truck, or making it prohibitively expensive for small quantity shippers to comply, i.e. must be shipped in leakproof containers, sealed in a second spillproof container, packed in enough absorbent material to contain a complete spill of the contents, warning labels galore, cannot be shipped with certain other materials, constantly changing regs, heavy fines etc.

That's funny...each year when we go to the Run to the Sun show in Lake Havasu we always load up at the local Home Depot on spar varnish and other paints that have yet to be regulated by the CA *****. I chuckle as I go through the Ag checkpoint thinking about how they are so focused on whether I have an apple that I bought in AZ and don't give a hoot about the gallons of high VOC paints I have in the trunk.

I still don't know why we have to conform to California standards...everything is "known to cause cancer" in California.

The biggest carcinogen in CA is named Moonbeam. Can't find a chrome shop any longer in San Diego, new proposed law to monitor gasoline consumption, what next?
