Knock sensor for 93 bronco

I am in need of a knock sensor for my 93 bronco with a 5.0. I had picked up one from a local salvage yard, not sure if shop installed it or just said they did, but the code for knock sensor is coming up. Any one have one for sale. Please let me know. Thanks.

The only time you will get a code for a missing or faulty knock sensor is during the KOER tests. In reality it does very little under most operating conditions, the truck will run fine without it. And yes..they are made of unobtainium these days.

So if the only time I would get a code would it cause the check engine light to come on? I am really just trying to get the check engine light to stay out. It has been coming on since head gaskets were replaced. Supposedly due to knock sensor, and Egr sensor both have been replaced and had codes checked today and still showing a code for knock sensor.

The only knock sensor code is from the Key On Engine Running (KOER) tests. It will not trigger a Check Engine Light (CEL).

What are the codes by number and during which tests? You should start with the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) tests and stored code (Continuous Memory) display. Once those pass you can then move onto the Key On Engine Running tests.

Replacing a part does not clear a code from Continuous Memory, you have to manually do that.

Codes are 332 and 634 with the engine off. I have had the codes cleared twice. Once for the knock sensor and once for the Egr position sensor. Any help would be appreciated just want to get the light fixed as the truck is running fine.

Code 634 (CM): MLP sensor out of range. Manual Lever Position Sensor (MLP Sensor)

Code 332 (KOER/CM): EGR valve opening not detected

I see no Knock Sensor code here. Typically replacing the EGR Position (EVP) sensor will not fix Code 332.
