99-07 tow mirrors: Do you find them useful?

wanted to make a thread on this to see pics and get input from others with 99-07 mirrors. try and take pics of yours in traffic (try to get a pic with a car in it to show how it looks in the upper and lower, like my pics and video). this discussion came up in the Ultimate Super Duty Picture Thread when a member posted his 08+, and member Sparky83 said that his 99-07 lower mirror was pretty much useless, that he only can see the ground for the most part. here is my view, the camera was positioned so it shows exactly what i see when im sitting in my normal driving position. i have virtually no blind spots in my 01 excursion or my 04 f350, and i can switch lanes, left or right, without moving my head, just tilting left or right and checking both mirrors. i get a full view out of mine, i've done numerous tests to verify so i know i can 100% trust it in traffic, and it 100% works, for me at least.

only thing we can think of is my height, im 5'9", and i have my seat in both truck positioned as low as the power seat will let me go. here's my 04 dually

here's mine, tried to show exactly how i see it from my drivers seat.

and here is Sparky83's view lol

On my 00, 02, and 05 I added a 2" mirror to the corner to greatly improve blind spot vision. Other than that they were fine. I used the round fish-eye to check for cars next to me, and the lower mirror to check the ground/rear wheel area.

I recently had some damage to one and it was more cost effective to upgrade to the 08 style, so I took this one off. With the newer mirrors, I do not need the add-on, but they took about a week to get used to after looking in the older style ones for 15 years.

Dont have a pic handy but I love mine. I do a lot of towing with my truck and the mirrors work great for it.

Even with the camera up high, still a decent view.

Yes, now you will be able to line up those Austin Mini's so the duallies go right over the center of them.

The mirrors on my 02 were okay, but I still like the 08 mirrors I put on much better. The C-Betr add-ons were well worth the money and work great, but I didn't care for the appearance. Again just something on our trucks that is a matter of personal preference.
