Looking for a 1948 F1 for sale

1948 Ford Pickup
Hey Pete, Thanks for the information. My insistence on a 1948 has made it a little harder. Also, looking for one that has not been altered is hard. I fully expect the truck to have normal wear and tear, but would like to avoid major damage or alternations. I am convinced that there are some out there, I just have to be alert and patient. Some one has one they have cherished for years and maybe took extra special care of and would like for their truck to find a very good home. I can and will offer that home. Now, I just have to get the word out. Thanks again for your help and for keeping me in mind in case you should come across one. Regards

I am curious though as to why you specifically want a 1948 when the differences 1948-1952 are so slight?

Okie, Now that is a super nice looking example of an F1. I really prefer one that has not been redone. I want one in its "original clothes" and I will clean it up and fix it mechanically and then drive it. It is getting harder and harder to find an original clean and sound one. I really do appreciate everyones help and maybe soon I will luck on the right one for me.

Buying a rust free example from the SW is well worth a premium price (that craigslist truck is a realistic, not premium price for a running drivable, rust free example IMHO), and the shipping charges. You can get one shipped coast to coast by a private shipper for 1- 1.5K. Cheaper than rust repair/replacement panels cost. I went to NM for my panel. completely rust free.
PS: that's assuming it has a transferable title.
