Smile 1996 Ford Ranger XLT

Hello and I have a 1996 ranger XLT, 3.0 auto. It is my everyday driver, and stock. I am needing to replace the front and rear shocks. Any recommendations. And I am also looking for some 14" chrome wheels. Please don't laugh to much. lol This is a GREAT forum.

Thanks,
Mark

Nothing wrong with the OEM shocks. My 99 still has the OEM payload package ones & they're fine, but only have 80+K miles on them. I tow my 175 Bass Tracker often, over & through the Blue Ridge Mtns about 60 miles round trip to the lake & back & it still handles the twisties & bumps just fine with the boat in tow.
Mine was delivered with 15" chrome wheels & they're still just fine, so look in the salvage yards for wheels, bet the price would be right.

If your looking to replace your wheels you may want to go with 15" ones. You will have a better selection and price for tires.

I just replaced the two front shocks. I did notice that the right front shock was just hanging on by the top bolts. I did notice when driving the right front tire did have some bounce to it. Well now I know why. The front ends sets up higher now and rides a lot better. Now to replace the rear. Still looking for some 14" chrome rims.
