You could try using dawn dish soap and hot water. That's what I did when I had a hose go and shoot coolant on mine. I knew that if I didn't, the belt would be toast. So far, not a problem.
You may take the belt off and put it in a bucket with hot water and soap and give it a good scrubbing by hand and then let it dry.
