6.0 ratings after bullet proof package

So I'm buying a new truck soon. I'm looking at a 6.0 low miles that just got the bullet proof package done. My question is where is my safe zone for keeping that head on. Has 5 inch back and cold air done already but I figure after a chip I will be above 30 psi pretty easy. And I haven't found any threads on people talking about what psi this head handles after wards I was hoping 50.

Imo opinion a studded engine is safe to about 35 psi. Anything above you may want to look into o ringed heads and h11 studs, not just standard arps. What is your horsepower goal? To feed enough fuel for 50 psi of air you are going to need a different fuel supply setup with a regulated return. Now with different/additional turbos, manifolds, injectors, studs, heads and fuel supply you will need to do something with the trans. The 5r110w is a great transmission for under 500 horse in stock for with proper tuning. Upgraded trans would be recommended above 500.

A 6.4 would be a cheaper way to get to big power, but they have their own set of problems which lead to big money repairs.

I wasn't wanting to go to 50. You'd just figure spending 5 grand on this bullet proof kit it'd be have a substantialy higher boost rating. I know a 7.3 would

I'm about 10k into repairs "mods" to my 6.0, in about two months it's getting the best mod I can give that truck, a cummins. Will have a complete 6.0 for sale soon. Hit me up if you need something for yours, all parts are newish

All you're doing with headstuds and delete's is really just fixing problems not adding much power--now add tunes, turbos, injectors after then you have some power add. I'd sure like to see 50PSI of boost--that would be something to see

How much boost your giving doesn't equal horsepower, it's the volume of air that gives it the power

It's both actually, cfm's and psi. It's PSI is dependent on the cfm's.

PSI is the measurement of back pressure where cfm's are the measurement of flowing air. So they go hand in hand when talking about turbos, just depending on what you are trying to say/do.

50 psi on a stock turbo vs 30 psi on a stock turbo would be less power.

But 50 psi on a stock turbo vs 30 psi on a much larger turbo would obviously be a lot more power.

And take it from a guy who's boosted over 50psi on a stock turbo, it's expensive and not worth it. Didn't boom, but I wish it had.

140k on the clock, it's been through 4 sets of head gaskets since new. It's been studded, it's been unstudded, finally did h11 studs and thought I was good, slowly I developed a leak somewhere again, not positive it's the head gaskets could be something else I suppose but unlikely. Tired of wasting money on it, although I love the power and sound of the 6.0, going with a cummins swap this winter. 😏😔
