F250 IDI diesel
Hi, my question is: I have a 94 F250 IDI turbo diesel. I have been told that it is not computerized therefore, it can not be turned up with a chip. Is there some other way of pumping up the power by mechanical means??? The truck only has 145xxx miles and has been maintained impeccably.

welcome to FTE.
you were told correctly, the 94 IDI-T is a mechanical engine, and therefore there is no place for a chip or programer to boost power.
there are a few ways to increase power on your truck though.
first, replace the crushed down pipe off the turbo with a new downpipe. then open up the exhaust with a high flow low back pressure muffler, or a muffler delete.
then turn up the fuel a bit.
if you have 145,000 miles on it and the injector pump and injectors have not been changed yet, they are reaching the end of their life expectancy and a new pump and injectors will help also.

There is a small screw inside the pump that can be tightened (turned clockwise) to increase the max. fuel delivery. You can gain a little power - along with extra smoke and exhaust port temps if that's what you want. Increasing the boost pressure along with increasing fuel delivery will get some good gains.
