looking for a fiberglass-to-metal adhesive

I was able to score a pair of brand new running boards (fiberglass) with attached brackets for my truck. I was at a garage sale and saw them. The lady said her husband passed away a few years ago, and he took these off of his truck the day he bought it home 20 years ago, and they have been in the garage since. $20 for the pair!! However, they were for an extended cab, and mine is a single cab.
So, there is a steel plate that is adhered to the fiberglass step with adhesive. I have to use the rust-free plate on my original fiberglass step. I was able to pry the plates off of each step , and now need an adhesive to glue the new plate to my original step. Any suggestions?

Thanks Brad! That stuff is not cheap - but the good stuff usually isn't.

I use JB Weld epoxy for everything. When cured, trying to break the joint is impossible. I glued a flat washer to a piece of wood in the wrong place. I realized this the next day. I ended up using a metal chisel to remove it. The washer was junk and the glue ripped out the wood it was glued to. You can get it at the hardware store, lowes, Home Depot and so on. I think around $ 7.00

The gun to apply it isn't cheap either
