Whate are these fuel tanks worth?

A couple of fuel tanks from my 1978 F150 Supercab 4x4 longbed. I won't be needing them, so I figured I'd sell them. The tanks aren't new repro, they are the original Ford tanks. They have been steam cleaned and dried, then painted. No rust, no leaks. I'm not using them because I've done Cummins swap, and diesel doesn't play well with galvanized steel, plus the fact that finding a 6-way switching valve for 1/2" line is damn near impossible. As such, I'm custom making a single large tank. Any idea what these should go for?

Sidemount tank with sending unit that was rebuilt by Tri-Starr and never used.

And the rear tank. New sending unit from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard.

Hi Bryan I've been pricing new tanks, haven't found the side rail tank in plastic yet. New side rail from LMC is 180 with shipping. O'rielly's is 200 w/5 year warranty. I'd be interested in yours. I'm in Portland.

If I were a buyer of the fuel tanks, I would be looking for at least 50 percent off of the retail price.

If the seller bucks, I'd tell him I'm looking for a good deal and the deal would be good for the seller since he/she would get some of their money back and no longer would have to schlep the tanks around anymore.

The side tank I have is impossible to find though, that's why I'm asking.

As stated it's available from LMC and DC, right?

You're correct in that there is no repro of the side tanks available. That makes them more desirable, but they are used, however in good condition. It's really a question of how much someone want's or needs one.

I might try ebay with a higher reserve to gauge.

I don't currently need one, but I'm thinking about what I'd be willing to shell out to have it as a back up, and I'm close, so we could avoid the shipping cost.

The supercab tanks are different than the standard side tank. I have not been able to find a repo version of the tank or sending unit.

Just wish you were closer and I would take them off your hands!! As March said, they (front w/sending unit) are almost impossible to find AND even tho they are used, they have been re-conditioned. I would think you could get $150 for that complete unit. Probably $50-75 for the rear. Just my .02

You might post them in the "parts for sale" thread as well.
