I don't know what it is, but it's gorgeous. I was on my way to Camp Emerson in Idyllwild yesterday and stopped for lunch at Farmer Boys on Ramona Expressway.

This was parked out front.

It appears to be 28/29. 30/31 didn't have the bar crossing the radiator under the headlights. The 30/31 also had a SS strip across the front of the cowl.

Im not a Model A expert but i understand these wheels on my 29 are original wheels for a 28 29. I had to go through about 10 wheels to get 5 good ones to powder coat.

Not sure what the red one has? 30 31 wheels?

I think you may be right on the wheels that red one looks like smaller diameter than yours. 1928-29 had 21", 1930-31 had 19".
Lots of these old restores have a mix of parts. My buddy had a 29 with a 30/31 cowl.

Not sure if my eyes are tricking me, but I'd say it's no Ford model A, but a Shay model A.

I don't know what a Shay is, but this car has Ford emblems on both front and rear.

Shay was a kit car built on I think a Pinto chassis, much like the Gazelle Mercedes.

OK, I Googled Shay and see what you mean. The Shay had a "Model A" emblem on the radiator, whereas this red car has a Ford emblem.

I don't know which it is, but I like it.

Ya the shock and shock mount on the rear axle gives it away as a shay. Good eye. I didnt look that close. Wonder if the doors shut and stay shut better than an original. I need to replace my latch catches.

I recall back in the late 70's, my local Ford dealer sold the Shay Model A repros at their dealership. I think it was a 50th anniversary of the "A" thing.
