There's a few things in the How-To sticky at the top of this forum, but nothing I found real useful. YMMV.
Transfer case fluid change has to be the easiest one ever.
If you have a Borg-Warner 13-56 case (will have a 13-56-xxxx cast into the back of the case):
Get 2 quarts of Mercon transmission fluid, a 3/8" drive ratchet, and a drain pan. Park the truck on flat level ground, make sure it ain't going anywhere (set parking brake, use chocks, etc) then get under the truck and find the 2 plugs on the back of the transfer case. One says "Drain Here" and the other says "Fill Here". Use the 3/8" drive ratchet (without a socket attached) to remove the drain plug, then when the oil is all drained reinstall the drain plug and remove the fill plug. Refill with 2 quarts or until fluid is level with and running out of the fill plug opening. Reinstall fill plug and you're all done.
If you have the 4407 case then it's the same deal but the fluid capacity MIGHT be different. My quick Google search shows it also takes two quarts but check your manual to be sure. I think only 96/97 trucks came with the 4407.
