The ratling sound comes and goes coming from lower end. My oil pressure eemains 40psi and temp stays at 170. Starting to think it could be from fly wheel bolt that goes into block based intermittent rattling sound and small oil leak. If it were rear main seal would the temp and oil pressure be way off. Rattling sound just started which coincides with oil leak motor has 1000 moles fresh build.

dx bottom end or motor/trany mate up noise
"...If they assembled it it should go back 2 them.
The oil leak may B from ur install..."
I don't know what causes ur noise. I'm 1 grade below a shade tree mechanic. I am getting an engine back from a shop whenever the machinest feels like doing it I guess... I will assemble with some help. I WILL B CERTAIN to use a drill & shaft to pump up the special assembly lube and break in fluid B4 I start the new motor. THAT may have been the problem w/urs altho I think that may B more important 4 the top end (but of course 4 all bearing surfaces). If you begin a disassembly to find the problem (not a motor removal) U may nor B able 2 give the motor back to the shop. At any rate you hafta get going on the diagnosis. Communicate w/the shop.
An NP 435 is a pretty straight mate to the bent8 but U may have done something there, I just can't tell frm here~
