I would be concerned about using heat that I didn't destroy the shaft seal if I planned on using the box again.

Heat and quench it a couple times. Propane or MAPP gas then PB blaster. Use a 2 jaw puller. I think Craftsman makes one thats about $50

Yes Bob, more than I wanted to apply too but the box was junk anyhow due to neglect. It's in my scrap pile now.

Pitman arm is off ! Took some of your advice and thankfully it just popped of. Thanks for all your input. The Gruffalo
