Much better fuel economy

I bought a small car to use as a commuter/short trip vehicle yesterday. Only catch was I had to drive 550km into the middle of the oil patch to get it.
So I hooked up the trailer and went to get the car. I was very surprised to see that the truck read 15.3 L/100km once back on the driveway. That is just over 15mpg in U.S gallons.
Now this load isn't heavy, but it's a load none the less.
Anyone else use a small car for short trips?

I like driving my truck, but it does use a lot more fuel than my economy vehicle.

I was lucky enough to win a 2008 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 with the V6 back when I was driving my Excursion with 185,000 miles on it. Sure has come in handy for an around town and to work vehicle. The Escape now has116,000 miles on it. Very thankful that it came to live with us!

Yup. 2009 Fusion for commuting, and short trips. For me the Superduty seat is more comfortable though. Wife drives an ecoboost Escape.

Picked this up 2 months ago. 03 Focus SE with 134k. So far, 32-34 mpgs and $24 fill ups. Love it.

I just stick with the one who brought me to the dance to begin with...........my 2013 F350 FX4 PSD. I can deal with driving the spousals 2013 Taurus SHO from time to time. But, anything other than my truck and I feel very vulnerable and small in traffic.

As the saying goes, you gotta pay the cost to be the Boss. Well, OK the husband of the Boss anyway.

Thankfully I have a company car that I can drive for personal use too. Huge benefit I'm grateful for. Just wish it wasn't such a weak little 4 cylinder girly car... and a Chevy! LOL!!

What's sad about my 4cyl Equinox is it only gets about 25 hwy if you drive easy, and around 13-14 city stop-n-go commuting. Maybe cuz you gotta floor it to get any go go power out of it lol

Definitely not impressed with it. And definitely WOULD NOT spend MY money on one.

I'd buy a EcoBoost Escape long before an Equinox.

I hear you on the Equinox.....my wife has a 2010 top of the line (LTZ?) with the V6 and AWD. Typical GM for me....very uncomfortable. Power isn't bad, but only gets like about 19 MPG average. But....she likes it, so......she gets to drive it!!!!!!
