Had to trade my 09 6.4

Well I had to trade my 09 6.4. It was my most favorite truck I have ever owned. It had 86000 miles. Spartan tuned.

I was running the Spartan tow tune pulling an empty 26' utility trailer. 1/2 a mile from home it started blowing white smoke. Got home and it was running rough. Took it in to the dealer. No compression #2 cylinder.

I had 2 6.0's. 04 F350 and an 05 Excursion. the 04 had the normal headgasket problems. The Ex was trouble free @ 190K when I traded it in for the 6.4. Both were Spartan tuned with SCT.

I just expected a lot more out of this truck

I got taken on the trade in. But I now own a 2015 6.7 F350 Dually.

that looks like my king ranch dually lol. to be honest i keep all my trucks stock because going above what it can do is asking for it! theer is a point to power in a truck because you can only pull so much so fast then there is grades, turns and so fourth!
diesels have gobs of power and have no idea why to try to get more out of them?
when i want to go fast i get in a jet or climb on my 310 hp kawasaki jet ski or get in my charger, i would not ruin a good truck to try to go faster, i am not trying to start anything but facts are facts, i like your boat and new dually they both look good

You won't regret the trade. Sucks it had to be under those circumstances.

I am impressed you stayed with a ford.

I think if I ever have to buy another truck to pull my boat I will be getting a dully since I have another daily driver

Had to trade my 09 6.4

When the 6.4 goes, it seems like it either needs a drop in engine, or an entire fuel system replacement. When they run, they have a lot of power, good cold starting and terrible mileage for as modern as this engine is. Just my opinion.
