Flareside Ruuningboards

Greetings,

Is there anyone out there that still has the original Flareside running boards on they're truck? If so would you be kind enough to take a few pics of the mounting area/hardware and tell me the size of the pipe they used to mount them? I think it is 1" or 1 1/4" but not sure.

I have the original running boards and would like to be able to reinstall them but I will need to fabricate the mounting hardware. I can't find anyone that sells a kit to mount them.

Thanks,
Gary

Well. I decide NOT to make them. I figured I would of had at least $100 in materials and then the better part of a day making them. Found a Guy that makes a better design that will take a hell of a long time to rot out since they do NOT trap dirt and moisture. $230 + freight was money WELL spent. PM me and and I can pass his info along.

I think they weight less than 25lbs each side and are a SUPERIOR design to the tube setup

Are the brackets that were posted above in the photos still available. I know this post is from several years ago. I am new to the forum and have a 92 Flareside that is need of new brackets. Any help is appreciated!

I had a set of really good original brackets, parted out the truck sold them.
Currently have a 94' flareside, with rotted out brackets.

My plan is to make original type brackets, using original size tubing.
New brackets are not available, nor are aftermarket.

Some one else might chime in here, but I think the only option is make your own.
I'll take pictures of what's left of mine, and one day will post my DIY original 'type' brackets.

I'm sure I could make them for under $200.

The above pictures, looks like the brackets could be used on a rock crawler, over kill in my opinion.
Also, looks like the fabricators business name is 'Yield Design'.

Can you post the pictures of those? I took mine off last night and the tubes are completely gone, I have parts of the front hangers still, but it would help to see what the set looked like originally. I wish I had paid more attention to my truck back when I had a 93, oh well. Thanks

wow, I'm surprised they have those. I have the running boards and they are in great shape, I just need the brackets to install them. However, that might be worth it to see if the brackets for those would work. Thanks for sharing that.

Pretty sure the "Owens" product will NOT come with brackets.
