Lowering the front end on an '81

I'd like to lower the front of my '81 Econoline. Nothing crazy. Just maybe a few inches. Wondering how this is done. Is it drop spindles, springs, or what? Also, where can I find the stuff? I've been searching online and can't seem to find anything that seems germane to this year of van.

Thanks.

nothing available , that's why you can't find anything........................

I think DJM dream beams made drop beams but discontinued due to lack of sales.

Shorter springs would lower the front of the van but would destroy alignment based on the twin I-beams. And the radius arms would create additional problems.

There are probably more people interested in lifting vans than lowering, and lift kits get awfully expensive; they usually move the I-beam and radius arm pivot points downward.

If you want a slammed van, it seems like Astro vans are the way to go...bet there are a lot of parts for them, and they have a more conventional front suspension.

Yeah, but, Astro vans kinda suck. Anyway, I don't want a slammed van, I just want to lower the front 2 or 3 inches. Oh, well.

Thanks very much for the info.

Big Dodge and GM vans are also easy to lower; Fords are the only ones with twin I-beams.

2-3 inches is a lot to lower a van; I would consider that slammed. Do you plan to plow snow with the bumper? You could always put smaller tires on the van--there may be some load range D or E tires in a smaller size as used on some of the new Euro type vans that would work. (Don't use small car tires without the load capacity you need.)
