Another Battery Mount Option

Passing this along for what it's worth.

(2) 6 Volt Optimas in series. One on each side between the running board and frame. Modified a Speedway Billet tray for the 6 volt which allows the battery to drop down when replaced. I'll castle nut/cotter pin the tray later.

Because they are tucked away pretty well, I opted to install a floor mounted heavy duty shut-off switch just inside the driver's door for safety and convenience. Additionally, I added remote terminals on the firewall to provide or receive a jump. Cables are 1/0 gauge up to the firewall, then 4 gauge to the starter.

Not cheap or easy but I'm happy with it and perhaps somebody might find this useful.

Very nice setup. The battery locations use space that is typically "wasted" space under the truck. I thought about using that space for a battery but did not think about the much narrower optima 6V.

My setup with a drop down box which works however It has to be very carefully fit into the location working around the e brake cable and the exhaust X. For the same reasons I suspect, I also have a battery shutoff switch and a charging terminal.

Nicely done Dawg

Innovative idea to split out into the two 6V batteries.
