correct bench seat for '52Merc M1?
Does anyone know what seat this is?
The plastic side panel and the passenger-side-only headrest makes me doubt it is from this 52 Mercury truck...
I'd be grateful for info or even posts of pictures with confirmed original bench seats for a "B" code (=DeLuxe cab) 52 Merc M1 truck.
If anyone of you has such a correct bench seat for sale I'd be happy to be noticed...

Here's the original seat with reproduced original 5 Star Extra upholstery. The reproduced kit is available from LeBaron Bonney. A link to their web site is below. I also include the 5 Star Extra interior features page from the salesman's handbook. The seat base in your truck is original. Even though this is a Ford pictured and reference cited, I'm pretty sure Merc was the same. The Merc guys can confirm or correct me if needed.
Your profile says you live in Germany, which makes shipping a seat an expensive proposition. I have one I'd give you, but even shipping it to the east coast for inclusion in a container would be expensive for you. I'd hope one of the guys in the northeast might have a spare seat sitting around. Stu

Oh wow... OK that's what I figured the bench seat would look like.
The link I will check out when I start redoing the cab.
I have a friend in Florida, who ships combined containers out on a regular basis. He is also on the road on a regular basis... Could you send me a picture of the spare bench seat you have?

Stu's correct. The Mercury deluxe cab was the same as the Ford's, and the same for US or Canadian production. The seat frame is the same, but the deluxe version used different padding and a unique cover design. The same grey with red trim was used for all the deluxe trim trucks, no matter what the exterior color was.

Thanks for this pic Stu. I just learned what the holes are for in the floor by the door. They're for holding down the rubber floor mat. I've been wondering what they were for...
