OT: Side Moulding

After going through car wash, the other day, this is what happened:

I've read about the 3m product, here on FTE.

I'm considering just taping down the section that is pulled away, but, I'm wondering with the bend of the moulding now that it will constantly keep tension on the 3m tape and will eventually pull the moulding away, again.

Would you suggest doing the little portion of moulding, or, remove complete moulding strip to remove bend and then re-install moulding to truck?

Thanks,

I would try taping down that section first. Had the same moulding on my truck it it leaves a lot of residue when you peel it off. Kinda of a pain in the butt to clean up and get ready to re apply.

Okay. I'll try taping the small section first and see how that goes.

Thanks for responding.

You can clean the exposed end real well and use 3M double sided tape to re-secure it. A little heat from a heat gun or hair dryer will make it more flexible when you go to stick it back on.
If the one end came up the rest may be weak as well so the best way to fix it would be to pull the whole thing off, clean, heat so it lays flat and apply the 3M tape and apply to the truck.

I have done this on several vehicles and had the best results pulling the moulding and doing it the correct way. Good Luck.

After reading your post, I tried a hair dryer. It helped a lot and I just rolled the tape off the truck and section that is not attached. Attached some 3m tape. Looks like it's holding.

Thanks to both you guys for the advice. I appreciate it.
