Opinions needed: Dorothy's ride height
Guys. First photo of Dorothy with the new Jag front in it.
Still has original rear springs as far as I can tell.
What do you reckon? Needs to come down a fair bit or leave as is?
The Mustang II front that was in it before definitely had it lower to the ground, giving it a pronounced rake (which I liked) but legally was probably a no-no.
At least now the ride is about even.
Thoughts, gents?
I would like to do something to the rear to bring it down as it does look a bit agricultural. Ideas???

I think it looks fine, maybe drop it an inch or two on both ends but I am not a big fan is the super dumped look.
Are the front upper control arms off their bump stops? In my 51 #2 build with the stock XJ6 springs my uppers are just touching but I still have to add the front sheet metal and fluids. On my truck #1 build I actually cut one coil off the front springs to lower it even more.

If the front end tie rods are in the proper place/angle to ground I would leave that alone. If you have original springs in rear - pull one or two - it should lower it a bit and give a better ride. At least that is what I was told to do on my F3 - but I had a lot more springs that you do. have fun - it really looks good.

Hi Nev. Yep. A couple of inches or so should do wonders I reckon. Not bad as is, tho. Can't remember how the springs are setup underneath the old girl. Will have to check on the weekend. Weekdays for me are a write-off. Leave at 5.30am, home at 8.45 pm. Gettin tired of using a torch every time I need to do something on the truck,. Okay, rant over.
These wheels are 7's. American Racing Torque Thruster II's. Picked them up cheaply from a guy who had them on his '57 Chevy. The tyres are new Coopers, 235's. The guy imported them from the USA, he says. I am not sure of their local availability.
I think the 7's are a bit small. Would have preferred 8's, but I don't think they look too bad. They don't rub, anyway. This photo is actually the first time I have seen the wheels on the truck.
I had to get the hubs machined to accommodate the Jag. $50 each at a local wheel shop. The Jag has the same Chevy bolt pattern anyway, and the rear end is a GM 10 bolt, so that made things easier.

Those wheels look great. Since you asked, I'd suggest as others have, a couple of inches down would look better to me. I guess I prefer a rake, but it has it's problems like speed bumps and the end of driveways. I have a Mustang front and I'm very happy with the stance of mine. I have no idea how to lower your set up, but I thought cutting coils was a no no. Here's mine.
